To mark the 30th anniversary of the foreign trade agency “Bayern International,” the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development, and Energy hosted a Foreign Trade Evening in the heart of Munich on March 10.
In fact, Bavaria is currently placing a strong focus on Africa, as Ralph Schneider had also attended the Africa Roundtable in Augsburg the day before, which was organized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The following day, Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, and State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Tobias Gotthardt, welcomed several hundred participants to the grand Kaisersaal hall of the Residenz. In addition to business leaders, the event was attended by members of parliament and delegates from African nations, consultants, staff from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and other organizations—many of whom are also members of the Africa Network.
The goal of Bayern International, founded in 1996 by former Minister of State Otto Wiesheu, is to promote the Bavarian economy abroad, foster networking, and organize trips abroad. Ralph Schneider had previously accompanied Bayern International on a delegation trip to Ghana and the Ivory Coast, which was organized by Ulrich Rieger, who has since moved to Martin A. Schöller’s “Africa First” network.
Between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., guests were treated to a standing reception, a buffet, catering, a band, and several speeches. Event organizer Wiesheu was also in attendance and delivered a welcoming address. Bayerin International shared some highlights from the evening on Instagram, as did Ralph Schneider and Dr. Wolf-Dietrich Fugger on LinkedIn.
Ralph Schneider seized the opportunity to speak briefly with Minister Aiwanger and, above all, to invite him to Ghana. A trip organized by Bayern International to Ghana is scheduled for September 21–26.

In diesem Sinne, to be continued…
